Girls Take Flight strengthened my confidence with the skills they’ve provided me to pursue Aerospace Engineering. But most importantly, Girls Take Flight gave me a safe space to be surrounded by like-minded women who continued to inspire me when I struggled to see faces like mine in STEM. I would not have made the connections and gained the experiences I have today without the program’s support.

During my internship, we targeted food problems by designing recycle and trash signs, repurposed lunch containers and used food for making meals. We created hummus from leftover chickpeas in the kitchen
